Gypsy Wind Dance Farm

The Gypsy Wind Dance Farm is situated on 20 beautiful rolling acres in Gaylord, Michigan and is the only Gypsy Vanner/Drum Horse facility in northern Michigan.

To ensure that the Gypsy Vanner foals produced on my farm are in keeping with the horse the Romany Gypsies envisioned, I consult frequently with my friend, Barbra Snyder, who is a well known premier breeder of Gypsy Vanner Horses in the United States.  I share Barb’s values and beliefs and will only produce 2-3 true Gypsy Vanner foals each year.   I am very excited that my first foal crop will arrive in June 2011.

I am extremely proud to own the amazing stallion, King Jester, son of the Gold Cup/5 Star stallion Romany King who needs no introduction.  Jester is a very handsome stallion from his striking white face off set with two perfect black ears to his short back which ends in a beautiful apple croup.  Jester is a perfect gentleman at all times, be it charming the mares or meeting new people.  He is especially friendly to anyone who wants to give him a good chest scratch or a mint.

I currently own two tall gorgeous Bay and White Gypsy Vanner mares, with one more up and coming of breeding age in 2011. The Grandsire to all is El Brio Charlie, son of the UK Road Sweeper. I also own an extremely sweet and colorful Shire mare named Rice Creek Calypso, and I am looking forward to her first Drum Horse Foal who will also arrive in June 2011.

I am in the planning stage offer Gypsy Wind Dance Farm as venue for other events, such as wedding carriage rides and pictures in your choice of two beautiful winter cutter sleds, or a 1910 doctor’s buggy, and fall hay rides ending at a huge pumpkin patch where you can choose your Halloween pumpkins for carving.  Please keep checking this site for more information.

I am currently deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom but expect to return in April 2012 and pick up where I left off.  There are no horses on the farm at this time, they are all being well cared for on my friend Lin’s farm until I return.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to both Barb and Lin for all the assistance they have given me during my deployment.  They are both truly amazing women.

Stop by and visit whenever you’re in the area.   Awaiting you is a huge welcoming committee of furry and feathered friends, beautiful horses, a spectacular panoramic view of northern Michigan, fresh air, good coffee, or a cold drink, friendly conversation and a very comfortable outdoor swing  to sit on and take it all in.
